From a Tahiti handover to a charter base in Tonga

Franco helped an owner buy and take over a 46 foot catamaran from Tahiti, then taught him to sail and handle her. The owner liked the result so much he asked Franco to run his charter yacht operation in Tonga as captain and operations manager.

Vava’u to Opua, with the boat prepared in Tonga

Franco prepared the yacht and gear in Vava’u, then crewed and skippered the crossing to New Zealand. Things broke on the way, as they do, and were repaired underway through calm leadership and teamwork.

“I find it very important in severe conditions to have a skipper who can remain calm and think clearly for the rest of the crew to function.”

A new owner was close to walking away from buying a catamaran. After Franco went through her and sorted out the mess, he decided to buy, refit and then sail. Franco brought her south from the top of Queensland and taught him to be a responsible skipper: trip planning, safety underway, reading the ocean and the sail plan. When Covid forced Franco ashore at the Gold Coast, the owner carried on alone, ready for it.

“Top bloke, smart as, good working knowledge on all systems, great sense of humour, an asset on board any boat.”

TownsvilleDelivery

Preparing and delivering a yacht to Townsville

Fibreglassing, electrical and mechanical repairs, rigging adjustments and navigation, all in one job. Franco worked as shipwright and delivery captain, getting the yacht ready to sail and then sailing her to Townsville.

“…exceptional skills and dedication, particularly in preparing my yacht for sailing and successfully delivering her to Townsville.”

“If it floats, I can sail it. If it doesn’t, I’ll fix it until it floats.”

Quick answers.

The things people ask first.

Every question, answered
How much does it cost?

Every job is different, so there is no price list. Once Franco has heard about the boat, the destination, the timing and what you need, he will talk you through it plainly.

I’m not sure which service I need. Does that matter?

Not at all. Most people do not know. Describe what is going on in your own words and Franco will help you find the right path. Nobody needs to choose a category first.

I’ve never sailed. Can you still help?

Yes. Many of the people Franco works with have just bought their first yacht. He teaches in plain language and does not make you feel behind.

Where do you work?

Across Australian waters and the Pacific Islands. If your boat is somewhere else, ask anyway.

Will I deal with a real person?

Always. WhatsApp, a phone call, a text or an email all reach Franco directly. There are no call centres and no automated forms between you and a conversation.

Not sure what you need? Just tell us your story.

We’ll help you find a solution.

Write as much or as little as you like. A real person reads every message.
